Hanoi - Hundreds of volunteers took to the streets after the parade to collect and classify waste on the streets.

On August 30, the Hoan Kiem Ward Youth Union in collaboration with the Vietnam Volunteer Community (VNV) launched the campaign "Clean Hanoi - For a Green Vietnam" with 500 volunteers collecting waste after the State-level approval ceremony to prepare for the parade and parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Volunteers and thousands of people participated in the response, gathering in the central area of Hoan Kiem and the parade streets. The volunteer force not only collects garbage but also propagates and reminds people to raise awareness of preserving the public environment.

According to Mr. Dang Thanh Tu - Vice Chairman of the Ward Fatherland Front Committee, Secretary of the Hoan Kiem Ward Youth Union, the campaign not only contributes to environmental protection during important holidays, but also spreads the image of the capital's people as civilized - elegant - responsible. This is also an opportunity for everyone to join hands to build a green lifestyle and beautiful behavior in the heart of Hanoi.

Sharing about the idea of starting the campaign, Mr. Do Van De - Chairman of the Vietnam Volunteer Community (VNV), Head of the Organizing Committee - said: "The idea originates from the reality that every major festival and event often leaves a large amount of waste, affecting the image of the capital. With the spirit of patriotism and national pride on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, we want to turn this important holiday not only into a common joy of the country, but also an opportunity for the community to express their sense of responsibility for the living environment".

Along with direct activities, the Hoan Kiem Ward Youth Union launched the online challenge "Check-in Green parade", encouraging the community to share beautiful images associated with the message: "A small action - A green capital".

The campaign takes place from August 30 to September 3, 2025, the peak of which is the occasion for parades and parades to celebrate National Day. During this time, volunteers will "fight" on many key streets to support people to dump garbage in the right place, ensuring a clean and beautiful landscape before - during - after the event.
