In addition, the flood injured 2 people (who were given timely emergency care), swept away many cattle and poultry; buried fish ponds; many rice fields were flooded or covered with soil and rocks. Inter-village traffic routes have also been eroded at many points...
"Currently, the commune government is mobilizing all shock forces and related units to support people in moving their assets and overcoming the consequences. The affected houses are mainly households living along the stream bank," said Mr. Hue.





According to Mr. Hue, although the flood came overnight, the local government proactively directed the authorities to move people to safe places before the flash flood, thereby avoiding any human casualties.
Currently, the work of overcoming the consequences and supporting affected people is being urgently deployed by the Muong Luan commune government and functional forces.


According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the past 24 hours (from 7:00 a.m. on July 26 to 7:00 a.m. on July 27), Dien Bien province has had moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places with very heavy rain such as Luan Gioi 148.8mm.
Soil moisture models show that some areas are nearly saturated (over 85%) or have reached a saturated state.
