Specifically, from the beginning of 2025 to now, African swine fever has caused 4,465 pigs to be sick, dead, or destroyed; The lumpy skin disease in buffaloes and cows has caused 47 buffaloes and cows to be sick, of which 5 have died or been destroyed.
African swine fever occurred in the communes and wards of Yen Hoa, Cam Due, Cam Xuyen, Thien Cam, Cam Hung, Cam Lac, Dong Tien, Thach Lac, Cam Binh, Thach Khe, Huong Xuan, Thach Xuan, Duc Quang, Duc Thinh, Hai Ninh, Ky Xuan, Co Dam, Son Tien, Son Kim 1, Thuong Duc, Bac Hong Linh, Dong Loc, Gia Hanh.
Dermatitis outbreaks occurred in the communes of Huong Do, Huong Khe, Duc Dong, Duc Thinh, Ky Xuan, Son Hong.
In the face of the above situation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and wards; directors of departments and heads of sectors, according to their functions and authority, to proactively direct and mobilize forces and resources to synchronously and drastically implement solutions to prevent and control African swine fever and dangerous diseases in livestock.
The People's Committees of communes and wards direct relevant functional departments and organizations, for localities with African swine fever and lumpy skin disease, foot-and-mouth disease on buffaloes and cows, to urgently establish/reorganize the Commune-level animal disease prevention and control Steering Committee.
Thereby, promptly assigning tasks to members, directing the implementation of disease prevention and control; directing and mobilizing forces and legal resources to synchronously implement disease prevention and control solutions according to regulations.
Closely monitor the epidemic situation, completely handle outbreaks, prevent epidemics from breaking out and spreading widely; organize strict inspections and controls of trading, transportation, slaughter; organize cleaning, disinfection, disinfection of barns, livestock environment and vehicles.
Organize vaccination against epidemics, especially for lumpy skin disease and foot-and-mouth disease in buffaloes and cows; establish a council for the destruction of sick, sick, or dead animals, ensure records and procedures according to regulations; review and evaluate the situation and conditions, and make announcements of epidemics in accordance with regulations; report daily the situation, developments, and results of disease prevention and control to the Department of Agriculture and Environment (before 4:00 p.m.) for synthesis, consultation, and reporting to the Provincial People's Committee.
Strengthen information and propaganda work on the situation and developments of the epidemic; raise awareness and responsibility of each household, livestock establishment, and people engaged in trading and slaughtering to proactively implement disease prevention and control measures.
Launch a general cleaning, disinfection, and disinfection of livestock environment in epidemics, high-risk areas, centralized slaughterhouses, markets for animals and animal products; instruct livestock farmers on cleaning, disinfecting barns and livestock tools to ensure proactiveness and efficiency in disease prevention and control.
