Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a Plan to implement the Program on preventing and responding to gender-based violence in Can Tho City, phase 2026 - 2030. Accordingly, the targets for Can Tho City to strive for by 2030 are as follows:
100% of people who are victims of gender-based violence are detected and have access to at least one appropriate support service; each commune and ward strives to have 01 temporary shelter in the community suitable to the actual conditions of the locality and the whole city has at least 05 standardized temporary shelters to connect to the commune-level transfer route, or connect support with the National Radio and other provinces and cities, in accordance with the support needs of the subjects and the actual conditions of the locality.

60% of communes and wards establish inter-sectoral coordination mechanisms in preventing and responding to gender-based violence.
100% of communes and wards deploy online reception or application of information technology in receiving, managing and supporting victims of gender-based violence.
100% of educational institutions build and implement procedures for preventing, detecting and responding to gender-based violence in schools; 100% of businesses issue or integrate content on preventing and combating harassment in the workplace according to the Labor Code and related guiding documents.
80% of cadres, civil servants, public employees, staff and collaborators working in social work are trained and fostered to improve their knowledge of preventing and responding to gender-based violence; in-depth skills in assisting and legally supporting people affected by gender-based violence.
