On the afternoon of July 8, An Giang Provincial Police held a meeting to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Security Forces (July 12, 1946 - July 12, 2026). This is a political event of special significance, an opportunity for officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police to review the 80-year journey of building, fighting and growing up of the Vietnam People's Security Forces; to express gratitude for the silent contributions and sacrifices of generations of Security officers through periods in the cause of protecting the Party, protecting the Fatherland, and protecting national security.
Promoting that glorious tradition, the Security Force of An Giang Provincial Police through various periods always proactively grasped the situation, effectively advised the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee in national security protection; synchronously deployed professional measures, fought to defeat all conspiracies and sabotage activities of hostile and reactionary forces; maintained political stability, ensured social order and safety, and created a safe and stable environment to serve the rapid and sustainable development of the province.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai acknowledged, praised and highly appreciated the achievements and feats of the Provincial Police Security force through various periods; and affirmed that the Party Committee, government and people of An Giang province always care, trust and create favorable conditions for the Police force in general, and the Security force in particular, to successfully complete their assigned tasks.
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that the Provincial Police Security force needs to continue to promote its glorious tradition, maintain political bravery, improve vigilance, proactively research, forecast, and firmly grasp the situation; promptly advise Party committees and authorities at all levels to lead and direct the effective implementation of the task of protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety; and at the same time continue to build a truly clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern force, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
In his response speech, Major General Nguyen Van Han - Director of the Provincial Police - respectfully thanked the leadership and direction of the Central Public Security Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee; the close coordination of departments, agencies, branches, localities and the companionship and assistance of the People to the Provincial Police force over the past time.
The Director of the Provincial Police affirmed that, inheriting and promoting the 80-year heroic tradition of the People's Security Forces, An Giang Provincial Police will continue to unite, unify, and strive to innovate and improve the quality and efficiency of all aspects of work; proactively prevent, detect, and fight to defeat all plots and activities infringing national security; build the Provincial Police Security Forces to be increasingly revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State and People.
