On July 7, the Institute of Non-Traditional Security, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, had a working session with the An Giang Provincial Police to unify the content of coordination in deploying and organizing a provincial-level scientific research conference: "Investigation, analysis, forecasting and development of prevention plans to ensure marine environmental security in An Giang province".
At the working session, the two units exchanged and agreed on many important contents related to the coordination plan for research, practical surveys, information collection, current status assessment and organization of scientific conferences to serve the project implementation. It is expected that the scientific conference of the project will be held in September 2026 in An Giang province with the participation of scientists, experts and representatives of relevant departments, agencies, and units to continue to improve scientific arguments and propose solutions to ensure marine environmental security in the province.
At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing the factors affecting marine environmental security in the context of climate change, marine economic development, increasing exploitation, transportation, aquaculture activities and the risks of generating crimes and law violations on the sea route; and contributed many opinions to improve the research content, survey methods and solutions to ensure the feasibility of the topic.

The research topic aims to investigate, analyze, and forecast the risks and challenges to marine environmental security in An Giang province; and at the same time build a system of solutions and effective prevention and response plans, contributing to improving the quality of state management of security, order, and protection of marine resources and environment, serving sustainable socio-economic development of the locality.
Speaking to direct at the working session, Colonel Dao Hai Dang, Deputy Director of An Giang Provincial Police, emphasized that the project implementation is of great significance both scientifically and practically, contributing to providing arguments and databases to serve the advisory work for Party committees and local authorities in planning policies and solutions to ensure marine environmental security. The comrade requested professional departments of the Provincial Police and related units to proactively and closely coordinate with the Institute of Non-Traditional Security in the process of research, practical surveys, collection of documents, information exchange and completion of scientific research projects, ensuring progress, quality, high application value, meeting the practical requirements of ensuring security and order in the area.
