On June 7, the Command of the Border Guard of Lam Dong province said that the unit had just coordinated with functional forces to arrest a subject for illegally possessing drugs.
Previously, at about 7 pm on June 6, in Thuan An commune, the Border Guard force of Lam Dong province coordinated with Dak Lao Border Guard Station, Traffic Police Team No. 4 of Lam Dong Provincial Police and Thuan An Commune Police to inspect a Mitsubishi Xpander car with license plate 51L-355.75.
Through inspection, functional forces discovered at the seat of Nguyen Van Ty (27 years old, from Soc Trang) a plastic vial containing white crystals suspected of being drugs.
Continuing the search, the task force seized another set of homemade drug use tools.
Working with functional agencies, Nguyen Van Ty confessed that the white crystals were Ketamine, a drug given to him by a Cambodian acquaintance to bring back to Vietnam for use.
According to his confession, on May 31st, Ty went to Cambodia to visit relatives and was given a bottle of drugs.
When entering through Tho Mo border gate, the subject hid the drugs on his person to deceive the functional forces.
On June 6, while moving from Gia Lai, Ty took out a part of the drugs for use.
The rest were hidden in the car and were discovered by functional forces when checking the vehicle in Thuan An commune.
The case and exhibits have been handed over to functional agencies for further investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.
