On March 5, Vung Tau Ward Police (HCMC) said that they had quickly investigated and arrested the subject who committed property theft in the area just over 8 hours after receiving the report.
Previously, at about 12:45 pm on March 4, Vung Tau Ward Police received a report from Ms. T.T. L. B (born in 1979) about theft of a backpack left on a motorbike, while buying seafood in the Co Giang market area, Vung Tau ward. When Ms. B turned around to pay for fish, a young man quickly took the backpack left on the motorbike and fled.
After receiving information, Vung Tau Ward Police quickly coordinated with grassroots security forces to conduct a review and extract security camera footage to track down the suspect. At about 9 pm on the same day, the Police force identified the residence and arrested Le An Duc (born in 1985) in a rented room in Tam Thang ward.
Through this, the force seized related exhibits to serve the investigation and handling. The review process also identified that the subject had 2 previous convictions for property theft.
According to Vung Tau Ward Police, the quick arrest of property thieves in a short time contributed to stabilizing the security and order situation in the area; demonstrating the proactive and drastic spirit of the Vung Tau Ward Police force and the grassroots security force in the fight against crime.
At the same time, Vung Tau Ward Police recommends that people be vigilant and protect personal property, especially in crowded places such as markets and shopping areas, to avoid leaving property exposed, creating conditions for bad actors to take advantage of and commit crimes.
