An Giang - After being wanted, the subject who stole dried squid in Rach Gia ward turned himself in.

On the morning of December 8, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police said that Nguyen Quoc Thinh (born in 1995, permanent resident of Ninh Kieu Ward, Can Tho City) surrendered. Thinh is a subject wanted by the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province for the crime of "Theft of property".

According to the case file, after discovering that Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thanh Duoc's family on Lam Quang Ky Street, Vinh Lac Ward, Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province (now Rach Gia Ward, An Giang Province) had locked the door without anyone to guard it, Thinh had the idea of breaking into and stealing property.

To do this, at noon on January 31, 2025, Thinh brought an iron saw to Mr. Duoc's shop, cut the iron frame and broke into the theft of 17kg of dry squid of various types worth over 15 million VND, and gave it to a friend (unknown identity) to sell for money to share and spend. On the same afternoon, Mr. Duoc returned to the store and discovered that the thief had broken into and stolen the dried squid, so he reported it to the police.

On March 31, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of Kien Giang Provincial Police (now An Giang Provincial Police) issued a decision to prosecute the accused and a ban on leaving his place of residence for Thinh. However, through verification, Thinh had fled the locality.

On July 18, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police issued a wanted notice for Thinh for the crime of "Theft of property". After being chased and persuaded by the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police, Thinh felt that he could not continue to flee, and on the evening of December 7, Thinh surrendered to enjoy the leniency policy of the law.
