Gratitude meal spreads the morality of drinking water, remembering the source

An Giang - "Gratitude Meal" is an opportunity for the younger generation to express deep gratitude for the great sacrifices of the previous generation for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

To celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), the Phu Quoc Special Zone Youth Union (An Giang) in coordination with socio-political organizations of the special zone organized a traditional activity program through the program "Gratitude Meal".

The program "Gratitude Meal" with the theme "Reunion Meal - Warm Love" was held at the family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Chen (73 years old) - a 3/4 wounded soldier, who participated in the anti-American resistance war for national salvation.

In a warm atmosphere, union members, youth and socio-political organizations cordially inquired, talked and listened to Ms. Chen share memories of a difficult wartime. True stories have helped the young generation better understand the sacrifices and contributions of their fathers and brothers, thereby fostering patriotism, national pride and sense of responsibility in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

The meal prepared by union members and youth with simple, warm dishes expresses affection, care and deep gratitude to people with meritorious services to the revolution.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuong Vy - a youth union member of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone - shared: "I am very honored to come here to attend the gratitude meal because I understand that living in peace is about the sacrifices of previous generations. We have started each person doing their own thing to complete this meal. Through Mrs. Chen's stories about the resistance war, we love and respect them even more and cherish their current lives.

The "Gratitude Meal" program is an opportunity for the younger generation to express deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of previous generations for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, and at the same time spread the humanistic values and the spirit of responsibility of the community in caring for policy families and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Vuong - Deputy Secretary of the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone Youth Union - said "This is a model that the youth union has maintained effectively for many years. Thereby expressing gratitude as well as the feelings of youth for the previous generation who have contributed to fighting to maintain independence and freedom for the country".
