According to the People's Committee of Bu Dang commune (Dong Nai city), on August 26, the locality coordinated with the Forest Protection Department of Region 7 to receive and hand over a red-faced macaque (Macaca arctoides) to the Bu Gia Map National Park tourism and rescue conservation center for care and management according to regulations.
Previously, while gardening durian for his family, Mr. Dang Thanh Tam (permanently residing in Vinh Thien village, Bu Dang commune) discovered a lost monkey in the garden. Realizing that this was a wild animal that needed to be protected, he proactively contacted the local authorities to hand it over.
Immediately upon receiving the news, the People's Committee of Bu Dang commune and the forest ranger force came to inspect, verify and determined that this was a red-faced macaque individual - a dangerous, precious, and rare forest animal belonging to Group IIB.
According to the People's Committee of Bu Dang commune, functional agencies then completed the procedures for receiving the monkey from the people and transferring the monkey to Bu Gia Map National Park for care and conservation according to regulations.
Bu Dang Commune People's Committee praised Mr. Dang Thanh Tam's proactive action of handing over wild animals. This action shows a sense of law compliance and a high sense of responsibility in nature conservation and biodiversity protection in the locality.
