Recently, Lai Khe Commune Police coordinated with the Commune People's Committee and the Forest Protection Department of Area 3 to receive 1 red-faced macaque individual of Group IIB voluntarily handed over by Mr. T.T. K (resident of Thuong Do village, Lai Khe commune) after discovering it strayed into his garden.
Immediately after receiving it, Lai Khe Commune Police coordinated with functional units to complete the dossier and hand over the monkey to specialized agencies for care and release back to the natural environment according to regulations.
Red-faced macaques are a species named in the Vietnam Red Book, belonging to group IIB in the List of endangered and rare forest plants and animals, as stipulated in Decree 06/2019/ND-CP dated January 22, 2019 of the Government. The actions of the people and the timely coordination of Lai Khe Commune Police contribute to protecting wildlife, preserving biodiversity and spreading awareness of law compliance in the community.
