On July 8, information from leaders of Vinh Tuong Commune People's Committee (Nghe An province), the locality has just received 2 wild animal individuals voluntarily handed over by people, including 1 red-faced macaque and 1 pig-tailed macaque.
According to local authorities, the red-faced monkey was discovered by a resident trapped in the forest with one arm injured. After rescuing it, this person took the monkey home for care and treatment. When the animal's health stabilized, people proactively contacted the authorities to hand it over according to regulations.
Meanwhile, the pig-tailed macaque individual has appeared many times in residential areas, entering gardens and people's houses to find food, affecting daily life. After being safely arrested, people handed it over to the local authorities.

Leaders of Vinh Tuong Commune People's Committee said that the pig-tailed macaque originally lived in a rocky area near a temple in the area. Recently, the animal has frequently moved into residential areas, so the locality has coordinated to receive it to ensure safety.
Immediately after receiving it, Vinh Tuong Commune People's Committee coordinated with forest rangers and police to complete procedures to hand over the 2 monkeys to the wildlife conservation facility of Pu Mat National Park for care and health monitoring before releasing them back into the natural environment.
