The 7th Ninh Kieu, Can Tho Tourism Festival - Lantern Night 2024 will take place for 5 days, from December 28, 2024 - January 1, 2025, at Khai Luong canal and Ninh Kieu park, Tan An ward, Ninh Kieu district.
The festival has two highlight activities: the Opening Ceremony at 7:00 p.m. on December 30; and a light and water music performance on the river on the two nights of December 30-31.
In particular, the light and water music art performance on the river is a combination of music, light and water to create impressive and unique performances. The water music is equipped with a system of speakers, lights, water jets and modern projectors to create diverse and vivid sound and image effects.
Many activities are hosted by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the city within the framework of the festival such as: Street music activities; Tourism promotion booths; Performances of Don ca tai tu, ho ve, and lullabies.
Activities chaired by Ninh Kieu District People's Committee include: Lantern design contest - model (about 50 - 60 lanterns - models are displayed at Cai Khe canal); Floating lanterns (5,000 with size 40cm x 40cm, released at Xang Thoi canal, Thoi Binh ward); Cake - Folk cuisine booth (24 booths); Booth displaying products of sponsoring units (20 booths); Flashmob dance performance; Traditional musical instrument performance; Sailing race; Artistic kite flying; Band exchange.
According to the People's Committee of Ninh Kieu District, the Festival is organized to promote to the people and tourists the potential and advantages of economic, cultural, social and tourism development of Ninh Kieu District and Can Tho City; the image of "Urban tourism in the river region" and Ninh Kieu people according to the criteria of Can Tho people "Intelligent - Dynamic - Compassionate - Generous - Elegant".
Through the activities at the festival, it is a bridge for exchanges and meetings between state management agencies at all levels with companies, businesses, travel agencies, and event units, in order to exchange experiences, cooperate and promote each other in the fields of economic development - culture - sports - tourism with community-based content and organization forms, exchange, preserve and promote traditional values combined with modernity of each locality, unit, and enterprise inside and outside Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city.
