Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch on strengthening the management of advertising and classifieds activities in the city.
According to the document, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City requested the Director of the City Police to coordinate in inspecting and handling acts of spraying paint, writing, drawing, pasting, attaching images and content on walls, electric poles or other locations in residential areas, public places, apartment buildings, citizens' residences or other works without permission from competent authorities... according to regulations.
Strictly handle acts of illegal gambling advertising, advertising of hunting guns and hunting bullets, sports weapons and products and goods that incite violence; acts of hanging, placing, pasting, drawing advertising products on electric poles, traffic signal poles and trees in public places... according to regulations.
The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall promote propaganda and raise awareness among people and businesses in advertising in accordance with the law; promptly coordinate with the People's Committees of districts and towns to inspect and handle acts of advertising and classified ads that are not in accordance with regulations, causing loss of urban funds, contributing to building a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee also assigned the Director of the Department of Information and Communications to coordinate with the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and heads of relevant agencies, units and localities to handle advertising phone numbers that are hung, placed, pasted or drawn in violation of regulations on electric poles, traffic signal poles and trees in public places, causing loss of urban beauty; promptly detect and strictly handle violations according to regulations.
The Director of the Department of Education and Training shall propagate, disseminate, and educate students to raise awareness in participating in activities related to advertising, classified ads, distributing leaflets, and carrying out advertising groups in accordance with regulations.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of the district shall strengthen the propaganda, dissemination and education of laws on advertising and classified ads in the area; Direct the affiliated agencies and units to organize inspection campaigns to remove illegal advertising and classified ads in public places, and resolutely and strictly handle violations in accordance with regulations.
