On June 1, Vinh Thuan Commune Police said that the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police had executed an arrest warrant for temporary detention against Huynh Thanh Phong (born in 1978, residing in Ca Mau province) to investigate the act of "Theft of property".
Previously, Vinh Thuan Commune Police received a report from Ms. T.K. T (born in 1985, residing in Vinh Thuan commune) about being broken into by thieves and having 1 mobile phone stolen.
After receiving the report, Vinh Thuan Commune Police urgently deployed professional measures to verify and investigate the subject. On April 28, 2026, the police force discovered Huynh Thanh Phong with many suspicious signs and took Phong to the headquarters to work. At the police station, Phong admitted to the act of secretly breaking into Ms. T's house to steal a phone.
Through verification, Huynh Thanh Phong has 7 previous convictions for "Theft of property", just finished serving his prison sentence on April 13, 2026. Only 3 days after returning to his locality, the subject continued to commit the crime.
Currently, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency continues to investigate and handle according to the provisions of law.
