Lao Cai - Trinh Tuong Commune Police coordinate to arrest 2 subjects storing drugs, tightening the border area.

On May 5, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that Trinh Tuong Commune Police had coordinated with Task Force 373 of the Provincial Police to discover and arrest 2 subjects for the act of illegally possessing drugs in the area.

Previously, implementing the plans of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and Provincial Police on building a drug-free area, Trinh Tuong Commune Police proactively reviewed, grasped the situation, strengthened the management of subjects and synchronously deployed professional measures to prevent and combat drug crime.

At about 3 pm on May 3, in Ta Cau Lieng village, functional forces discovered and caught Giang A Menh (born in 2000, residing in Tan Giang village) and Lo A Pao (born in 1988, residing in Seo Phin Than village) in the act of illegally possessing drugs. Through verification, Giang A Menh is a subject under management after detoxification in the locality. Quick test results showed that both subjects tested positive for drugs. Menh confessed that he had previously illegally used drugs by injection in Ta Cau Lieng village.

The police agency has collected samples for expert examination, and at the same time consolidated the file to handle the act of illegally using drugs according to regulations.

Authorized by the Head of the Provincial Police Investigation Agency, the intermediate investigator, Deputy Head of Trinh Tuong Commune Police, issued a decision to temporarily detain Giang A Menh and Lo A Pao for investigation into the act of illegally possessing narcotics.

Expanding the investigation, Giang A Menh confessed that previously, on April 13, he sold a package of drugs for 50,000 VND to Giang A Lenh (born in 1968, residing in Ta Cau Lieng village), who is related to a case of illegal drug use that occurred on the same day in the area.

Currently, the case is being further investigated and clarified by the police agency for handling according to the provisions of law.

The timely detection and arrest of subjects continues to affirm the core role of the grassroots police force in grasping the situation, managing the area, proactively preventing and fighting crime and social evils, contributing to maintaining security and order in the border area.

Trinh Tuong Commune Police also recommends that people be vigilant, not participate, not try to use drugs in any form; and actively coordinate and provide information to functional forces when detecting suspicious signs, joining hands to build a safe and healthy living environment.
