On July 15, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that Bao Ai Commune Police had administratively sanctioned 5 people residing in the commune for illegal gambling.
According to the police agency, each person was fined 1.5 million VND according to the provisions of point a, clause 2, Article 36 of Decree No. 282/2025/ND-CP of the Government. The total fine amount is 7.5 million VND.
Previously, at 2:20 PM on June 21st, during a patrol to ensure security and order in Tan Tien village, the Task Force of Bao Ai Commune Police discovered and caught 5 subjects sitting on a blue plastic mat, using a set of poker cards to gamble for money in the form of playing "lien".
At the scene, functional forces seized 2.27 million VND, 1 deck of 52 cards and 1 plastic mat. The subjects and exhibits were taken to the headquarters to make a record and handle according to regulations.
According to Bao Ai Commune Police, timely handling of gambling cases contributes to deterring, preventing violations, and maintaining security and order right from the grassroots level.
The police agency recommends that people not participate in gambling in any form, including in cyberspace; do not harbor or organize gambling and actively denounce violations to contribute to building a safe area, without gambling evils.
