On July 3, Phu Tho Provincial Police said that the Investigation Police Agency has issued a Decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the defendant and issue an arrest warrant for Luu Ba Dung (born in 1990, residing in Xuan Lang commune, Phu Tho province) for the crime of "Robbery" under Article 171 of the Penal Code.
Previously, at about 8 am on July 1, Phuc Yen Ward Police received a report from Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lien (born 2002, residing in Group 2 Trung Nhi, Phuc Yen Ward) about being robbed of an iPhone 16 Pro Max phone.
According to the report, at about 1 am on June 17, Ms. Lien was driving a motorbike from the 74 collective area (group 8 Hung Vuong) to her house. When she reached the An Duong Vuong street area, she was suddenly approached by a young man riding a motorbike, snatched the phone she was holding in her hand and quickly sped away.
Immediately after receiving the information, Phuc Yen Ward Police urgently deployed professional measures, organized verification, investigation and review of suspicious subjects in the area.
At about 4 pm on the same day, the police force identified Luu Ba Dung as the subject who committed the robbery. Functional agencies also seized the phone as evidence of the case and the motorbike used as the means of committing the crime.
After consolidating the initial file, Phuc Yen Ward Police transferred the case file to the Criminal Police Department of Phu Tho Provincial Police for handling according to their authority.
Based on the investigation results, on July 3, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Provincial Police initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the defendant and issued an arrest warrant for Luu Ba Dung to be handled according to the provisions of law.
