On February 8, a delegation from An Giang Provincial Police led by Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police - visited, encouraged and awarded unexpected commendations from the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security to Long Xuyen Ward Police for their outstanding achievements in the peak period of attacking and suppressing crime.
Previously, on January 1, 2026, Ms. T (born 1992, residing in Long Xuyen ward) came to the Ward Police to report that thieves had broken into her house and stolen more than 10 taels of 9999 gold; 1 wristwatch and 40 million VND in cash. The total value of lost property was over 1.5 billion VND. Immediately after receiving the report, the leaders of Long Xuyen Ward Police assigned police forces to the scene to organize an examination, investigation, verification and pursuit of the subject.
By professional measures, on January 5, Long Xuyen Ward Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police to identify Le Binh Yen (born in 1990, residing in Trung Hung hamlet, My Thoi ward, An Giang province) as a suspicious subject, so they invited him to the headquarters to work. At the Police Agency, Yen was evasive and did not admit it. However, before the images and evidence collected at the scene and during the investigation, Yen admitted to committing the above property theft.
During the expanded investigation, Le Binh Yen also confessed that previously on December 15, 2025, he and Nguyen Be Nhi (born 1993, residing in Pho Que hamlet, Long Xuyen ward) committed another theft in the area with a total value of stolen property of about 470 million VND.
With the outstanding achievements of the Long Xuyen Ward Police force in the fight against crime during the peak period, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security signed a Decision to commend unexpectedly to recognize and encourage the spirit of the collective of officers and soldiers of Long Xuyen Ward Police.

In the coming time, especially before, during and after the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police - requested Long Xuyen Ward Police to continue to promote the achieved results, proactively grasp the situation, and not let unexpected events occur. Focus on performing the task of absolutely protecting the safety of the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term, and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term; resolutely fight against all kinds of crimes; and at the same time play a good role in advising the Standing Committee of the Ward Party Committee to maintain peace in the area.
On this occasion, Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, also sent New Year greetings and presented a meaningful gift to the collective of Long Xuyen Ward Police.
