Da Nang City People's Committee on April 1 said it had just issued an official dispatch to implement directives on strengthening energy saving, promoting energy transition and developing electric vehicles. The focus is on expanding the charging station infrastructure for electric cars and motorbikes in the area.
Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade is assigned to take the lead in developing a plan to use energy economically and efficiently in the period 2026–2030. The plan focuses on controlling energy consumption at agencies, units and production and business establishments. At the same time, advise on mechanisms to encourage businesses to invest in charging stations and develop rooftop solar power, in accordance with actual conditions.
In parallel, the Department of Construction will propose to supplement the planning of charging station infrastructure in urban areas and new construction projects. This is a step to synchronize technical infrastructure with the trend of electric transport development. The city also orients towards building policies to promote electric buses, electric taxis and clean transport vehicles.
For businesses, especially key energy-using facilities, the requirement is to increase electricity saving, innovate technology and improve equipment efficiency. The goal is to reduce electricity consumption by at least 3% per year.
Electricity industry units such as Da Nang Power Company and Da Nang Power Transmission are assigned to promote propaganda and implement programs to manage electricity demand and adjust loads.
The development of charging stations and electric vehicles not only contributes to reducing emissions but also promotes sustainable energy transition. This is the foundation for Da Nang to build a green and modern transportation system, meeting the requirements of urban development in the new period.
