On April 9, Lam Dong Provincial Police coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union to organize a ceremony to award the "Brave Youth" Badge and Certificate of Merit from the Central Youth Union to Captain Le Dinh Thanh - Deputy Head of the Economic Security Department (PA04).
According to the commendation decision, Captain Le Dinh Thanh was commended for his courageous act of rescuing 2 people who drowned in the Tan Thanh rocky area (Tan Thanh commune) on the afternoon of February 19, 2026.
Previously, at about 1:30 PM on February 19, 2026 (the 3rd day of the Binh Ngo Tet), on the way back to the unit after performing his duties, when arriving at the above area, Police Captain Le Dinh Thanh heard shouts of someone having an accident while swimming in the sea.
Regardless of the danger, Captain Thanh quickly swam away from the shore with the people, approaching the victims being swept away by the waves.
With bravery and skills, he directly participated in rescuing and bringing 2 victims (including a child and a tourist) ashore, providing timely first aid, contributing to saving their lives.
At the ceremony, representatives of the Provincial Youth Union announced the decision and awarded the "Brave Youth" Badge and Certificate of Merit to Captain Le Dinh Thanh.
