From March 1, 2025, the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum (Dien Bien province) changed its name to "Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum" under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
According to Ms. Vu Thi Tuyet Nga - Director of Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum, Dien Bien Phu victory is a historic milestone of the times, with an influence spreading to all classes, ages, generations and the whole world.
The value of this victory is not only that of the Vietnamese people, but also becomes a symbol of the victorious strength of peace-loving countries in the world. The name "Dien Bien Phu Victory" has been associated with the event and place name known throughout the world.
In addition, the archival documents about the Dien Bien Phu war in 1954 of Vietnam and the world are all associated with the name "Dien Bien Phu Victory".

Accordingly, Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum has legal status, seal, and account to operate in accordance with the provisions of law.
Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do also assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop regulations on the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
The Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum currently preserves more than 7,000 artifacts related to the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. These are valuable artifacts that have been collected and preserved for over 70 years.
The Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum is located in the middle of the Dien Bien Phu battlefield relic complex in Street 3, Muong Thanh Ward, Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province.
The current museum project was officially started in October 2012 on an area of 22,000m2 and opened to visitors on May 5, 2014 after 19 months of construction. This is a project of great scale and modernity.
In the middle of the project is a space for a panorama painting "Dien Bien Phu Campaign" - one of the world's largest murals on the theme of war.
