On the morning of July 3, the Truong Sa Island Logistics - Technical Service Center, under Squadron 129 of the Navy (Truong Sa Seafood Company Limited), supported the successful repair of fishing boat BD96899TS.
At 10:00 a.m. the same day, the fishing boats and fishermen continued to go out to sea to fish at the traditional fishing village.
Fishing boat BD96899TS, captained by Mr. Nguyen Truc, from Gia Lai province (after the merger), has 5 fishermen on board who work as a fisherman. Ship departing from Binh Dinh port (old) on June 14, 2025.
At about 7:00 a.m. on July 2, while fishing about 10 nautical miles northeast of Truong Sa Island, the boat had a problem with the steering system.
Immediately after receiving the request for support, the Center guided the ship to Truong Sa Shipyard and quickly sent officers and technical staff to the ship to check and survey the incident.
After dismantling the damaged equipment and bringing it to the repair shop, the repair work was completed by 8:00 a.m. on July 3. The ship's steering system operates normally after being successfully installed and tested.
While the ship is waiting for repair, the Center's staff has disseminated Directive 45/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on a number of urgent tasks and solutions to remove the "yellow card" of the European Union (EU) for Vietnamese seafood; at the same time, introduce the activities of fishing ports and fishing villages in Truong Sa island district.
The center also supported the donation of national flags, personal life jackets, 1,000 liters of soft drinks, some essential necessities and medicine to fishermen on the boat.
This is a regular activity in the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go out to sea".
Thereby, contributing to ensuring the safety of fishermen at sea and working with the whole country to overcome the EU's "yellow card" warning.
