The two cases are N.M. T. (born in 2010) and P.V. T. (born in 2011), both residing in hamlet 21, Hien Luong commune.
According to the presentation, before that, the two students learned how to make homemade guns through videos on social networks.
Due to lack of understanding of legal regulations, the children made an alcohol gun for self-defense purposes.
After grasping the information, Hien Luong Commune Police organized working sessions, propaganda and explanation of regulations related to the management and use of weapons.
Functional forces also analyzed the risks that may occur when self-making, storing or using this type of gun.
Through exchange, N.M. T and P.V. T realized that their actions were wrong and potentially dangerous to themselves and those around them.
The two children then voluntarily handed over the gun to the Commune Police, and committed not to re-offend.
According to Hien Luong Commune Police, in the past time, the unit has strengthened propaganda and mobilized people to comply with regulations on the management of weapons, explosives and supporting tools.
This work focuses on teenagers, groups easily affected by social media content.
Hien Luong Commune Police recommends parents to strengthen management and education of their children. When detecting acts of manufacturing, storing, trading or using weapons and weapons illegally, people need to promptly notify functional agencies.
