On August 27, the Office of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province said that on August 29-30, the "Walking with Vietnam to Advance" program in 2026, organized by Dong Thap province in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security and Nhan Dan Newspaper, took place at Hung Vuong Square. This is a practical activity towards the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution, 81st anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Police and 21st anniversary of the All People's Day for National Security Protection.
On the first day, (August 29), stands out with activities that spread green lifestyles. Accordingly, localities in the province will organize a series of response activities, including exchanging garbage for gifts, planting trees, learning about environmental protection models and cultural and sports exchanges. In addition, people also have the opportunity to interact with the Police force, experience fire prevention and fighting skills, rescue and relief, traffic safety; participate in check-in activities, minigames and step-accumulation challenges.
On the second day (August 30), at Hung Vuong Square, it is expected that 4,146 athletes who are officials, civil servants, armed forces, students, and people will participate. Communes and wards in the province will also organize responses, with a minimum of 200 people at each point. From 6 am, the program will broadcast live the flag-raising ceremony at Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi). At 6:30 am, the launching ceremony and walking parade will officially take place. Participants are encouraged to wear red and yellow star flag t-shirts, to spread the spirit of solidarity and national pride. At about 7:30 am, the program is expected to announce data and set a Guinness record.
Not only aiming for health training, the program also conveys messages about strengthening community solidarity, reducing carbon emissions and building a green lifestyle. People who do not participate directly can still accompany by registering and accumulating steps on the online platform "Joining Vietnam to Advance". The achievement recognition portal has been open since August 8, 2026.
