On the evening of September 2, during the opening ceremony of the 2026 Pickleball World Cup at Tien Son Sports Palace, the Command Information Center of Da Nang City Police received a mobile phone picked up by a resident.
Immediately after receiving it, officers and soldiers of the Center urgently verified the information and found the owner. The phone was later identified as belonging to a foreign male athlete participating in the tournament and was returned on the same evening.
Previously, forces at the Command Information Center also guided and supported a female tourist to find her lost handbag.
The 2026 Pickleball World Cup gathers more than 5,000 male and female athletes from 65 countries and territories. From September 2nd, athletes will compete in many events until September 6th. This is not only an international-scale sports event but also an opportunity to promote Da Nang's image, strengthen cultural exchange and connection between countries and territories.
Timely supporting athletes and tourists to find their property contributes to ensuring security and order during the tournament, while creating an image of a safe and friendly Da Nang in the eyes of international friends.
