On July 11, at Song Loc Commune Health Station, Saigon Vinh Long Eye Hospital coordinated with the Commune People's Committee to deploy the first phase of the program to provide free eye exams and medicine for local people.
The program is organized in three phases on weekends at Song Loc Health Station, Luong Hoa Health Station and Luong Hoa A Health Station, expected to provide screening, counseling and free medicine for more than 1,050 people.
At the examination points, a team of specialist doctors conducts vision measurements, checks eye diseases, provides consultation on care, vision protection and provides free medicine. Cases requiring intensive treatment are directed to referrals for monitoring.
On this occasion, Saigon Vinh Long Eye Hospital also supported 9 free eye surgeries and presented 15 gifts, worth a total of 98 million VND, to people in difficult circumstances, contributing to improving vision and improving the quality of life.
The program contributes to early detection of eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors, retinal diseases; and at the same time raises community awareness about eye health care, spreading social security significance in the locality.
