On October 1, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) to organize an international conference on "Ocean Future 2025".
With the theme "Smart technology and sustainable marine life", the workshop gathered nearly 50 domestic and foreign scientists and experts to attend and exchange many related presentations.
The content focuses on three main issues: Ocean technology in the green economic ecosystem; health, prosperity and the relationship between urban landscape and community; innovation for a sustainable green economy.

Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Le Huyen said that the ideas, knowledge and experience from experts will contribute to helping the locality build specific policies, realize the aspiration to become a center of the marine economy, a smart city and a livable city of the region.
He emphasized that Khanh Hoa always wants to listen to research, perspectives and multidimensional analysis to develop a sustainable marine economy, associated with improving the quality of life for people.

The provincial leaders also identified strategic pillars, including: developing ocean technology as a spearhead industry; applying high technology in aquaculture, exploitation and protection of marine resources.
At the same time, the province is determined to comprehensively transform digitally in tourism, services, coastal urban management and invest in synchronous digital infrastructure.
Khanh Hoa has an important strategic position, being the gateway to the East Sea, with nearly 500km of coastline and more than 200 islands.
This is also the locality that owns the largest coral reef area in the country (7,600ha) and is the only unique mountainous area in Vietnam, creating key fishing grounds and ideal conditions for the production of aquatic and saltwater varieties.
The province has an outstanding marine transportation system with three deep-water ports (Van Phong, Cam Ranh, Ca Na), capable of receiving ships with a capacity of up to 300,000 DWT.
The tourism - service sector has developed strongly with high-end resorts, cruise tourism, sea sports and diving in famous bays such as Nha Trang, Van Phong, Cam Ranh, Vinh Hy.
Khanh Hoa is also the largest center for salt production, shrimp breeding and bird's nest in the country, and is also a foundation for developing fisheries, offshore farming and processing high-value aquatic products.
