Lam Dong - Provincial Police simultaneously conduct a general review of trucks and transport business vehicles to rectify violations, ensure traffic safety, and prevent accidents.

Simultaneously inspect and rectify violations

From mid-July to now, implementing the plan of the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Police, the police force of communes and wards simultaneously inspected trucks and transport business vehicles, combined with propaganda and mobilization of businesses and vehicle owners to voluntarily comply with the law.

Functional forces focus on checking registration papers, technical safety conditions, environmental protection, service life and compliance with regulations on transport business.

At the same time, guide vehicle owners to identify the risks from extending the cargo box, carrying overload or delayed registration; request to self-dismantle the illegally extended part, overcome existing problems and take the vehicle for inspection in accordance with regulations.

All vehicles were photographed and recorded for management purposes. Through initial inspection, no dump trucks under 15 tons with extended cargo beds or illegal structural changes were detected.

In Kien Duc commune, the police force inspected 36 dump trucks and passenger transport vehicles; mobilized 42 individuals and businesses to sign commitments to strictly comply with traffic safety regulations.

Putting prevention first

Colonel Nguyen Van Tiep - Head of the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police - said that the new point of the general review is to shift the focus from handling violations to prevention.

Inspection work is associated with propaganda, helping vehicle owners raise awareness of ensuring technical safety, not expanding vehicles, not carrying overload and fully implementing regulations on registration.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai - Head of Ta Dung Commune Police - said that the goal of the general review is not only to detect and handle violations but also to raise the awareness of law compliance of people and businesses.

When vehicle owners fully understand their responsibilities and voluntarily comply with regulations, the effectiveness of traffic accident prevention will be much more sustainable," Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai emphasized.

In parallel with inspection work at the grassroots level, the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police has organized a conference to propagate and guide the exploitation of data on journey monitoring devices and driver's cameras for transport businesses.

To date, more than 320 businesses trading in freight and passenger transport in the area have signed commitments to strictly comply with regulations on traffic order and safety, and coordinate with functional forces in managing and exploiting data on journey monitoring devices.

Through review, the whole province currently has nearly 1,300 dump trucks operating in transportation business.

This is a group of vehicles mainly transporting construction materials, leveling ground, regularly circulating on national highways, provincial roads and mountainous areas, posing a potential risk of traffic unsafety.

According to Lam Dong Provincial Police, the general review contributes to raising the awareness of law compliance of organizations and individuals, preventing violations, limiting traffic accidents, protecting infrastructure and building a safe and civilized traffic environment.
