Stick to the middle line deep in the forest
At the beginning of the rainy season, reporters followed the working group of the Economic Security Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police through the forests in the south of the province to inspect the 500kV power transmission line.
Officials and soldiers of the Economic Security Department inspect each power pole, each section of the power grid safety corridor, and review all unusual signs. In some locations, officials have to walk nearly a kilometer, cross streams, and follow mountain slopes to reach the foot of the power pole in the middle of the forest.
Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Economic Security Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police, said: Many locations require hours of walking to reach. In the sunny season, the stone floor is scorching; in the rainy season, the roads are slippery, and many sections require clinging to trees to move. However, inspections are still maintained regularly to ensure the safety of the power transmission system.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Tuan, the risk of energy insecurity comes not only from acts of sabotage but also from theft of equipment and trees encroaching on the power grid corridor.
Along with that, construction works violate safety distances, mineral exploitation near reservoirs and cyberspace risks.
Therefore, each inspection not only surveys the scene but also works with businesses to review protection plans, camera systems, fire prevention and fighting, expert management, workers and promptly propose solutions to overcome risks.
Maintaining safety of key energy projects
In the first 7 months of 2026, the Economic Security Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police has coordinated with hydropower and thermal power enterprises and local authorities to implement many solutions to ensure security and order at key energy projects.
Patrol, inspection, and drills to prevent terrorism, prevent natural disasters, and ensure dam and reservoir safety are maintained regularly.
At the same time, functional forces strengthen propaganda and guide people living along the power grid corridor and downstream areas of hydropower reservoirs to comply with safety regulations.
According to Power Plan VIII, Lam Dong is a locality with great potential for developing hydropower, wind power, solar power and new energy types. This also poses increasingly high requirements for the protection of the national energy system.

Protecting energy security is not only periodic inspections but also requires close coordination between the police force, businesses and local authorities to detect and handle early arising risks.
Thanks to synchronous coordination, in the past time, key power projects in Lam Dong have been ensured to be safe, without complicated security and order incidents, contributing to maintaining power sources to serve socio-economic development and people's lives.
