On August 8, Hue City Department of Construction said that it had just announced the results of the architectural design competition for the bridge across Con Hen and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge.
According to Decision No. 2594 of Hue City People's Committee, option code 168, named "Trang River Wharf", won the First Prize. The option was implemented by a consortium of Transport Construction Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 and Lap Phuong Architecture Joint Stock Company (CUBIC).
The second prize belonged to option CH108 of the consortium of Vietnam Industrial and Urban Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company (VCC) and Lequang-architects LAB (Germany). Option number 125 of Cau Lon - Tunnel Design Consulting Joint Stock Company won the third prize.

The contest has 12 entries. After the first round, the Selection Council of 13 members selected 4 entries for round 2. In the secret ballot results, the "Bến sông Trăng" option received 13/13 votes for the First Prize.
According to the Examination Council, this option exploits typical images such as the Perfume River, moonlight, boats and lanterns, creating architectural highlights associated with Hue's identity.
The design is assessed to have a modern, elegant form, suitable for the landscape; connecting the space of the two banks of the Perfume River with Con Hen, meeting technical and traffic organization requirements. This is also the plan with the lowest total investment among the submitted plans.
The bridge project across Con Hen and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge has a total length of about 2.76km, a cross-section of 26m.
The starting point of the project is at the Truong Gia Mo - Le Duc Anh extended road intersection, Vy Da ward; the ending point is at the Nguyen Binh Khiem - Ho Quy Ly extended intersection, Phu Xuan ward.
The total estimated investment of the project is about 2,200 billion VND, of which the scope of exam research has an investment of about 1,400 billion VND.
Hue City People's Committee assigned the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to coordinate with the first prize-winning unit to receive the opinions of the Selection Council, complete the plan and implement the next steps.
