On August 5, at the Cultural House of Hamlet 10, Hoa Hiep commune, the Vinh Long Provincial Red Cross Society organized a voluntary blood donation day with the theme "Blood donation - Giving love, connecting life, spreading love".
The festival attracted a large number of officials, civil servants, public employees, union members, youth, armed forces and people in the area to participate. Before donating blood, volunteers underwent health screening, counseling and fully implemented the steps according to the health sector's procedures, ensuring safety for donors and the quality of blood received.
With the message "Blood donation saves lives - Noble gesture", "Each drop of blood given - A life left behind", the program contributes to raising community awareness about the meaning of the voluntary blood donation movement, and at the same time spreading the spirit of sharing and compassion for patients.
According to the Organizing Committee, the festival is expected to receive nearly 200 units of blood. All collected blood will be transferred to medical facilities for screening, preservation and emergency and treatment when necessary.
This is an activity that the Vinh Long Provincial Red Cross Society regularly maintains to develop the voluntary blood donation movement, contributing to building safe blood reserves, meeting the treatment needs at medical facilities.
