Propose adding 1 day off, announcing holiday and Tet schedules before September 30 of the previous year
The Ministry of Justice has just publicly disclosed documents for appraisal of the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Labor Code, the Law on Archives, the Law on Gender Equality and the Law on Red Cross Activities. The draft law is drafted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The draft law supplements regulations in the Labor Code related to holidays and Tet. Specifically, the draft law has added 1 day off as Vietnam Culture Day November 24.
This content aims to institutionalize Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of Vietnamese culture, stipulating that November 24th every year is "Vietnamese Culture Day" and is a holiday, and employees are entitled to full salary.
In addition, the draft law supplements the regulation: "Every year, based on actual conditions, the Prime Minister shall specifically decide on the holidays specified in points b and d, clause 1 of this Article. The Minister of Home Affairs shall notify the implementation of the annual holiday and Tet holiday schedule according to the Prime Minister's decision before September 30 of the immediately preceding year".
