People flocked to queue up to experience Metro Line 1.
On the morning of December 28, thousands of people flocked to the stations of Metro Line 1 to experience this new form of public transport. At around 10am, at Ben Thanh Station of Metro Line 1, a large number of people were present, lining up to board the train. Due to the large number of people, the station staff had to regulate the situation, only opening the door for small groups to enter one by one, to ensure that there was no overload and to maintain order.
Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1) said that from December 22 to December 27, Metro Line No. 1 ran 1,140 trips, carrying more than 531,000 passengers, far exceeding the original plan.

Emergency situation declared regarding landslides on Hoi An coast
On December 28, the office of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee announced that the Provincial Chairman had signed a decision to declare an emergency situation regarding landslides on the Tan Thanh coast, Cam An ward, Hoi An city. The Hoi An coast is about 7.5 km long and has been experiencing serious landslides and sea encroachment for many years.
The current status of the temporary embankment project in the coastal area through Tan Thanh block, Cam An ward, Hoi An city has been eroded and damaged for about 225m, with an average depth of 5m to 7m, digging deeper and deeper into the coast, threatening the property of people living in this area and the works and infrastructure.

Bad weather forecast for the area due to strengthening cold air
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the strengthening of cold air, the Gulf of Tonkin currently has strong northeast winds of level 7, gusting to level 8-9; at Ly Son island station, there are strong gusts of level 7.
On the day and night of December 28, the North East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa archipelago) has strong winds of level 7, gusting to level 9. The sea is rough, with waves 4 - 6m high. The area between the East Sea and the sea from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan has strong winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8 - 9. The sea is rough, with waves 4 - 6m high.
