Mango growers in Dak Nong suffered heavy losses, selling 1 quintal of mango can only buy a few kilograms of rice
The decline in mango prices has caused many gardeners in the mango capital Dak Nong to suffer heavy losses. Mr. Nong Van Loc's family, in Cao Lang village, Dak gan commune, cultivates 1 hectare of mango. This year, thanks to favorable weather, the mango garden is highly productive.
More than half a month ago, my family harvested a portion of the output and sold it for 7,000 VND/kg. However, for the remaining 70% of the output when harvested, traders only pay 1,000 - 3,000 VND/kg. In previous years, traders have purchased at an average price of over VND15,000/kg (the lowest is also from VND7,000 - VND8,000/kg).
