4D National Highway landslide causes traffic jam between Lai Chau and Lao Cai

On July 11, information from the Department of Construction of Lao Cai province, at 11:30, a block of soil and rocks collapsed, filling a lane at Km91+500 (near Bac waterfall), National Highway 4D, in Ban Ho commune, affecting the circulation of vehicles from Lao Cai to Lai Chau.

Also during the above time, on the road through O Quy Ho Eco-tourism Area, a long landslide from above affected traffic and some resort bungalows.

Prosecution of a couple for using toxic chemicals to produce hundreds of tons of bean sprouts

The Chief Prosecutor of the People's Procuracy of Region I has decided to prosecute the defendants for using toxic chemicals to produce bean sprouts for sale on the market.

The defendants prosecuted for the crime of "Violating food safety regulations" as prescribed in Point a, Clause 1, Article 317 of the Penal Code include: Ta Van Hai (born in 1971) and his wife Le Thi Tham (born in 1973) residing in Van Hoa commune, Lao Cai city (old) now Lao Cai ward, Lao Cai province; and prosecuted also Tran Thi Toan (born in 1972) residing in Kim Tan ward (old) now Lao Cai ward, Lao Cai province.

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Region I, through investigation, the authorities discovered that the couple Ta Van Hai - Le Thi Tham, along with Tran Thi Toan, used chemicals in the process of producing bean sprouts to sell them on the market.

Urgently evacuate households from death pits in Muong Hoa commune

On July 11, the authorities evacuated two households from the "death hole" area formed by landslides and subsidence in Tham hamlet, Muong Hoa commune, Phu Tho.

Previously, in Tham hamlet, Muong Hoa commune, there was prolonged heavy rain, causing landslides and subsidence in the residential area of Ms. Bui Thi Thuong and Mr. Bui Van Yen.

At Ms. Thuong's household, a large sinkhole appeared with a diameter of more than 9m, about 8m deep, exposing the entire foundation and digging about 1.5m deep into the solid house foundation. The house has 5 members, the floor is collapsed, the wall is cracked, the connecting part between the main house and the kitchen is separated, posing a serious safety risk.
