Continue to discover more illegal diamond transportation cases
On October 30, Tan Son Nhat Airport Customs Branch (Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department) announced that the unit continued to seize another smuggling case with more than 300 diamonds.
The person transporting this shipment was Mr. D.A.K, an Indian national, who entered Ho Chi Minh City from Hong Kong (China). During the inspection of Mr. K’s luggage, the authorities discovered 15 plastic bags containing 362 diamonds, cleverly hidden at the bottom of 2 candy boxes.
Within just 3 days (October 23-25), Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch coordinated with the Economic Police Department to detect and seize more than 1,000 smuggled diamonds, worth tens of billions of VND.

Landslides in many places in Ha Tinh
Affected by storm No. 6, in Ha Tinh there was heavy rain and big waves causing landslides in many places, making people worried and insecure.
On October 30, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Hoi Commune (Nghi Xuan District) - said that the impact of storm No. 6, high tides, and strong waves caused the coastline in Tan Ninh Chau and Hoi Tien villages (Xuan Hoi Commune) to continue to erode 3-4m deeper at the opening points of the 15 billion VND breakwater project that was completed in mid-2024.
Mr. Thanh also expressed concern when in reality the sea waves entering through the openings of that embankment continue to cause erosion.

Can Tho informs about the plan to relocate the landfill blocking the highway
Regarding the issue of landfill No. 8 (Cai Rang district) located on the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project under the North - South expressway construction project in the East phase 2021-2025, on the afternoon of October 29, Can Tho City People's Committee said that it is expected that by December 31, 2024, the site will be handed over to the My Thuan Project Management Board.
The relocation of landfill No. 8 is divided into 2 phases. In phase 1, the People's Committee of Cai Rang district will carry out the relocation of the volume of garbage in the overlapping section between the North-South expressway east of landfill No. 8; In phase 2, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will prepare a project to relocate and treat the entire landfill No. 8.
