On May 6, Lang Son Provincial Police said that the Investigation Police Agency had just initiated a case and prosecuted 66 defendants (including 48 foreigners and 18 Vietnamese people) for the crimes of Organizing gambling and Gambling.
Previously, on April 21, hundreds of police officers from many forces of Lang Son Police coordinated with Border Guards and Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs to simultaneously surround and raid Thai Duong Hotel and entertainment area belonging to Thai Duong Co., Ltd. (Hoang Van Thu commune).
In the entertainment area, functional forces caught red-handed about 80 people gambling in the forms of Baccarat, Long Ho, NiuNiu, Fan-Tan.

5 people hospitalized, 1 person died suspected of eating mushroom soup in Son La

The suspected food poisoning incident occurred in Phieng Pan commune, causing 6 people to have severe symptoms after lunch, including 1 death.
According to a report by the Son La Provincial Sub-Department of Food Safety and Hygiene, at noon on May 2, at the field house of Mrs. Lo Thi Phuong (Na Hien village, Phieng Pan commune), 24 people ate rice with steamed dog meat, boiled duck, dried bamboo shoot soup, rice wine and white wine.
After the main meal, 6 people went to the kitchen to eat more mushroom soup picked in the forest.

All people will have periodic health check-ups and free screenings from 2026
By the end of 2026 and the following years, the entire population will have regular health check-ups or free screenings and will be issued an electronic health record.
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra has just signed and issued Directive No. 17/CT-TTg dated May 6, 2026 of the Prime Minister on organizing periodic health check-ups or free screening for people.
Accordingly, to organize the synchronous and effective implementation of periodic health check-ups or free screening at least once a year for people nationwide, from 2026, the Prime Minister requests Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, and Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities to focus on directing the implementation of a number of key tasks.
