Soc Trang New Rural Area Through Lens

Soc Trang - The mechanized fields to green, clean, and beautiful villages are shown through the lens, clearly reflecting the new appearance of the countryside.

On June 25, the Office of New Rural Coordination (NTM) of Soc Trang province held a ceremony to summarize and award the award for the 2025 NTM Photo Contest of Soc Trang province.

After nearly 4 months of implementation, the Organizing Committee received 471 works from 103 authors. The works reflect a variety of fields in building new rural areas such as: agricultural restructuring, rural economic development, OCOP programs, digital transformation, climate change response, environmental landscapes, cultural life, and rural tourism potential.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Deputy Chief of the Office of the Soc Trang Province New Rural Development Coordination said that the photo works have provided a more comprehensive view of the achievements and results of the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development for the period 2021 - 2025 in the province as well as reflecting the practical practice of vibrant new rural development between units and localities. The photos are also a communication material to help serve the propaganda work, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of the whole society for new rural areas.

To date, Soc Trang province has 75/80 communes recognized as meeting the NTM standard, reaching 104% of the target assigned by the Central Government. Of which, 30 communes have met the advanced NTM standards and 3 communes have met the model NTM standards. 5 district-level units were recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting the standards/completion of the task of building new rural areas, achieving 100% of the target. The poverty rate in the whole province is currently only 1.32%, exceeding the set target of a reduction of less than 2%.
