On May 19, the leader of Tuy An Traffic Police Station (Phu Yen Provincial Police) said that the unit had just coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Provincial Police to temporarily detain Nguyen Thi Tam (born in 1985, residing in Nghe An province) - a subject being ordered to detain by Nghe An Provincial Police in an emergency for being involved in illegal drug trafficking.
According to initial information, at about 11:05 p.m. on May 17, the Patrol Control Team of Tuy An Traffic Police Station coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department to stop and inspect a passenger car with license plate 51B-260.26 driven by driver Ho Sy Dan (born in 1982, residing in Nghe An province), traveling on National Highway 1 in the North - South direction to Ho Chi Minh City.

After checking the vehicle, the working group discovered Nguyen Thi Tam in the vehicle, with a face wrapped in a ticket.
"The female suspect has just had plastic surgery, so she used a T-shirt wrap around her face to protect her. Although the ice layer caused Tam's appearance to change, the working group still identified the subject and detained him," said the leader of Tuy An Traffic Police Station.
Currently, Nguyen Thi Tam has been handed over to the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Phu Yen Provincial Police for further handling according to regulations.
