In the context that Phu Quoc is a key area serving projects preparing for the APEC 2027 Summit, ensuring security and safety is identified as a particularly important task. The Provincial Police have advised the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Terrorism to inspect the work of preventing and combating terrorism in the process of implementing key projects, proactively identifying risks, and promptly overcoming loopholes and shortcomings from the early stages.
Speaking to direct the meeting, Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong - Deputy Director of An Giang Provincial Police - requested units to continue to thoroughly grasp the objectives of the Project, identifying building Phu Quoc into a model area as a comprehensive task, linking ensuring security and order with building a civilized, safe, friendly urban environment, serving people, businesses and tourists best.
In particular, before, during and after the National Day 2/9 holiday, units must proactively and seriously implement security and order assurance plans; arrange full on-duty and on-duty forces, strictly maintain information and reporting regimes and be ready to promptly handle any arising situations. Strengthen patrols and inspections in key areas, routes, areas, crowded places, entertainment and tourism spots; ensure absolute safety for people and tourists throughout the holiday activities.
