According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the morning of September 25, super typhoon No. 9 Ragasa will enter the Gulf of Tonkin with winds of level 11 - 12, gusting to level 14 - 15, causing heavy rain of 150 - 250 mm, some places over 400 mm. The North faces the risk of flash floods, landslides, and widespread flooding.
In response to the complicated developments of super typhoon No. 9 Ragasa, on September 24, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province requested the entire government system to activate the response plan at the highest level.
The top priority is to protect people's lives, especially the elderly, children and vulnerable groups. Localities must urgently evacuate people from dangerous areas.
Ensure safety for ships and waterway vehicles; tie up houses, reinforce infrastructure, proactively drain water; arrange warning forces and direct traffic.
For production and business activities, especially agricultural production, the motto is emphasized as "Green at home is better than old in the fields".
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that if there is a lack of responsibility in direction and causing damage to people and property, the head of the agency, unit, and the grassroots government will be responsible.
Along with that, the Provincial Military Command prepared forces and means, ready to participate in evacuating people and rescuing people. The provincial police coordinate to ensure safety during storms.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment closely monitors the situation, directs the protection of dykes and dams, and limits production damage. Departments, branches, Industrial Park Management Boards and related units will implement plans to protect people and property, and at the same time prepare funding sources to promptly overcome natural disaster incidents.
