On May 13, Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee announced that it had issued a social housing (NƠXH) development plan for the period 2025-2030 with 60 areas and projects planned on a total area of 305 hectares. In which, the land fund for NƠXH is 127 hectares, housing for armed forces is 28 hectares and dormitories for industrial park (KCN) workers are about 150 hectares.
Currently, there are 12 social housing projects in the province that have been approved for investment policy with a total scale of more than 7,000 apartments. Among these, there are 4 projects under construction with a total of 1,869 apartments.
According to the plan, in 2026, investors are expected to complete and hand over about 993 apartments for use.
One of the outstanding projects is Loc Ninh 1 social housing in Dong Thuan ward, which started construction on December 25, 2025 and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027. The project provides 309 apartments with 14 different types of areas to meet the diverse needs of people, especially low-income workers.
The project is planned near industrial parks, so it is convenient for workers to live, travel and work. This is also the general direction of the province in developing social housing and worker accommodation in the coming time.
Mr. Van Duc Loi - Deputy Director of Quang Tri Provincial Department of Construction said that the province has approved the plan to build social housing and worker dormitories in industrial parks. The land locations are all located close to industrial parks to create favorable conditions for workers.
According to Mr. Loi, the province is calling on businesses to participate in investing in social housing projects with the goal of ensuring selling prices suitable to the income of workers but still fully meeting infrastructure and amenities such as kindergartens, shopping areas, and entertainment areas serving residents.
The development of social housing is expected to help workers in industrial parks stabilize their accommodation, feel secure in their work, and be attached to businesses for a long time, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the locality.
