The program deploys 20 bus trips, bringing 900 passengers to the Central Highlands, South Central Coast and North Central Coast provinces. Each bus trip is not only a means of transportation, but also a journey cared for with care, safety and sharing from meals, drinks, Tet gifts throughout the journey, to welcoming and supporting when returning to the locality.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang - Deputy General Director of Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co. op) said: "For us, Happiness Bus is not only a social security activity, but also a persistent commitment in the process of bringing happiness to the community. Tet will be more complete when each worker away from home has the opportunity to return to their family, in the loving embrace.
After 4 years of implementation, the "Happy Bus Trip" program has supported bringing nearly 3,200 workers far from home to celebrate Tet. The first year the program served 500 passengers; in the next three years, the program supported 900 passengers each year.
After four seasons of implementation, the "Happy Bus Trip" program has gradually expanded its scale and become a meaningful annual activity every Spring.
