On February 14th (December 27th of the lunar calendar), Tan Son Nhat airport entered the peak day of the pre-Tet series with 1,041 flights and 158,843 passengers. Recorded from early morning, the domestic terminal area was always bustling with people. Although the number of passengers increased sharply, operations were still maintained stably.

According to forecasts from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the number of passengers will begin to gradually decrease in the next two days (December 28 and 29 of the lunar calendar). However, this number will still remain at a high level compared to normal days as the demand for late return home and international tourism is still present.

Notably, real pressure will be concentrated in the post-Tet period when people return to the city to work. The two peak days are forecast to fall on February 22nd and 23rd, 2026 (the 6th and 7th days of the first lunar month of Binh Ngo year). In these two days, the airport is expected to serve about 1,025 flights/day, but the number of passengers going and arriving is expected to "break the peak", exceeding the threshold of 165,000 people/day.
To prepare for the peak period after Tet, operating units at the airport have developed plans to regulate traffic flow and increase support personnel at bottlenecks such as the scanning area and taxi lobby to minimize congestion.
Passengers are recommended to check in online and arrive at the airport on time to ensure convenient travel.
