On July 26, the youth of Naval Region 5 from mainland to remote islands simultaneously launched the "voluntary Saturday" with many meaningful tasks. This is a practical activity within the unit's "Youth Volunteer Summer 2025" Campaign.
Officers and youth union members of Naval Region 5 organized a general cleaning of the tent, taking care of flower beds and ornamental plants, pruning trees to cover the view, cleaning the coast and internal roads. After a day of active work, the units collected and classified more than 5 tons of waste to the treatment site.
Along with cleaning and landscape beauty activities, units have hung banners and propaganda slogans to raise awareness of environmental protection, disease prevention, strict compliance with discipline, and maintaining a regular lifestyle. Many familiar and easy-to-remember messages such as: "Youth of Naval Region 5 to act for a green environment", "Youth of Naval Region 5 determined to successfully carry out the summer youth campaign in 2025" have created a vibrant competitive atmosphere in the entire unit.

On the same evening, cadres and youth union members of Naval Region 5 attended the Incense Offering Ceremony - Lighting Candle of gratitude at Phu Quoc Special Forces Martyrs' Cemetery (An Giang Province), to commemorate and show gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and protection of the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
Volunteer Saturday is an opportunity for the youth of Naval Region 5 to promote their spirit of initiative, courage and responsibility. Thereby, contributing to building a disciplined foundation, green, clean and beautiful landscape and improving the quality of life and activities at the unit.
