On January 21, the People's Court of Vung Tau City announced that it had conducted a trial under simplified procedures and fined P.N.A (born in 1974) VND 200 million for illegally storing explosive fireworks.
Previously, there was a need to use fireworks for the Lunar New Year 2025, so P.N.A went online to find a seller. After a while, P.N.A was offered 15 fireworks stands by a subject (unknown information), for a total of 7.5 million VND.
The seller contacted P.N.A to arrange delivery at the intersection of Luu Chi Hieu Street and 2/9 Street (Ward 10, Vung Tau City). After receiving the goods, P.N.A brought 15 fireworks platforms to his home on Luu Chi Hieu Street to hide.
On January 4, 2025, during the inspection process, the authorities caught P.N.A. in possession of the above fireworks and seized the illegal exhibits. The appraisal results determined that all of the exhibits were explosive fireworks with a mass of 26 kg.
Through the trial, the People's Court of Vung Tau City sentenced P.N.A to a fine of 200 million VND for the crime of "Possessing prohibited goods" as prescribed in Point c, Clause 1, Article 191, Penal Code.
The sentence on the act of storing firecrackers has been shortened in procedure and tried early to warn and deter those who intend to produce, transport, trade, store, and use illegal firecrackers during the Lunar New Year 2025.
