Specifically, through inspection of the work of preventing and responding to storm No. 3 and heavy rain in some units and key areas of Cam Pha and Hon Gai, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) requested units to coordinate well to ensure safety in responding to storm No. 3 and heavy rain.
In particular, pay attention to the following key locations: Drainage area at level +28 (Deo Nai - Coc Sau Coal Joint Stock Company); Dong Cao Son waste dump area from level +80 to level +210; Alpha drainage ditch system (Deo Nai - Coc Sau Coal Joint Stock Company and Environmental One Member Co., Ltd.); Lo Tri area +110; Bang Nau waste dump foot area (Cao Son Coal Joint Stock Company); Nam Khe Tam waste dump foot area (Duong Huy Coal Company).
TKV also requested the PCTT-TKCN Command Board of units to maintain 24/24 duty; maintain smooth communication, strictly implement the reporting work before, during and after storms to the PCTT-TKCN Command Board of TKV. Units with water transport must count boats, vehicles and notify them to move out of areas with strong gusts of wind; anchor securely at storm shelters to ensure the safety of vehicles, assets and goods. Reinforce and firmly secure equipment, warehouses, houses, assets, especially tall equipment in seaport areas.
Units focus on clearing and dredging drainage systems to prevent flooding. Reinforce and prevent erosion of storm and rain prevention works. Carefully inspect hill slopes, slopes, around and behind construction works, warehouses, factories, operator offices, works near slopes... to prevent landslides.
For open-pit mining units, carefully inspect and review waste dumps, quarries, mine banks, and reinforce drainage belts to ensure that water does not flow through the waste slopes, mining floors, and mine banks, and minimize water entering the mining pit. Move equipment to safe locations to prevent landslides and flooding of open-pit mining pits according to storm response plans; place warning signs, guard, and prevent people from entering areas at risk of mine bank landslides...
For underground mining units, before storm No. 3 makes landfall, they must check and strengthen the drainage pump system, partition walls, pump tunnel doors, water tanks, power supply systems, and backup generators to ensure they are ready to generate electricity when the grid loses power.
