Rare pangolin discovered by people crawling on the roadside in Dong Nai

Dong Nai - In Phu Rieng commune, on the way home from work, people discovered a rare pangolin individual crawling on the roadside.

On the evening of July 25, Phu Rieng Commune Police (Dong Nai City) said that they had carried out procedures to conserve a pangolin individual in accordance with regulations.

Previously, Phu Rieng Commune Police received a pangolin weighing about 7 kg voluntarily brought by Mr. Le Huu Duy (born in 1999, residing in Phu Vinh village, Phu Rieng commune, Dong Nai city).

According to Mr. Duy, on the way home from work, he discovered an animal crawling on the side of the road. Suspecting that this was a rare wild pangolin belonging to the list protected by law, he proactively took this animal to Phu Rieng Commune Police to hand it over to functional agencies for handling according to regulations.

Immediately after receiving it, Phu Rieng Commune Police conducted an inspection to ensure the safety of the animal individual. Phu Rieng Commune Police coordinated with the Forest Protection force of Area 8 to complete the handover procedures for care and conservation. After that, the pangolin individual will be released back into the natural environment when conditions are met.
